DOMI introduces DMP300KP, a 905 nm pulsed VCSEL that brings high peak optical power to compact ToF and 3D-sensing transmitters. With 300 W typical pulsed optical output in a 5.2 × 5.2 × 1.55 mm AlN ceramic package, the new emitter addresses projects where illumination power and hardware space both matter.
The 300 W output is specified at Ts = 25 °C, IF = 61 A, a 5 ns pulse width and a 0.025% duty cycle. For developers of 3D scanners and volume-measurement equipment, DMP300KP adds a compact source for high-peak-power, nanosecond-pulsed illumination.
High peak power in a low-profile package
DMP300KP combines its pulsed output with a package just 1.55 mm high, helping hardware teams fit the light source into compact transmitter assemblies. The 5.2 mm-square body gives designers a small component footprint when allocating space for the emitter, driver and optical components.
The AlN ceramic package also includes a center pad marked N.C. that can be used as a thermal pad. This provides a connection point for the board-level thermal path, bringing heat-flow planning into the transmitter's PCB design.
Rectangular illumination for area sensing
With typical beam divergence of 40° horizontal × 30° vertical under the same pulse conditions, DMP300KP provides a rectangular emission pattern for scene illumination. The wider horizontal spread gives optical designers a useful starting point for layouts that need more horizontal than vertical coverage, including 3D-scanning and volume-measurement projects.
Its 905 nm typical wavelength and 4 nm maximum spectral width, specified under the same test conditions, also give optical teams a defined source spectrum for receiver-filter selection. Together, the beam pattern and spectral characteristics help developers plan how the illumination will match their sensing area and receiver optics.
