Application of ToF camera in the robot vacuum

Its measurement distance is much farther than structured light, and its corresponding speed is higher, and its cost and power consumption are lower than structured light. ToF cameras are more advantageous in long-distance scenes and in complex lighting environments.

For the application of robot vacuum, ToF camera is mainly used in ranging, its measurement accuracy, distance and anti-interference ability. The distance accuracy detected by the ToF camera can reach the millimeter level, which enables the robot vacuum to adjust its posture more accurately, and at the same time has a certain auxiliary role for the robot vacuum to determine its position in the existing environment. The robot vacuum uses the ToF camera chip to detect the front and side distances, so as to perform actions such as sweeping along the wall and avoiding obstacles.

In the future, the sweeper will use ToF technology to cooperate with the camera to collect surrounding environment information, especially depth information. The positioning scheme of the entire sweeper is improved through TOF technology, thereby improving its intelligence. In addition, for the TOF camera ranging chip, etc., further cost reduction and application circuit optimization should be considered.
