ToF technology can be applied not only to 3D face recognition and 3D modeling, but also to environment reconstruction, gesture recognition, motion sensing games, AR/VR, navigation and other applications. Compared with structured light technology, ToF camera technology has a wider application range and more imagination space.

Compared with the other two solutions of 3D depth vision,ToF camera solution has significant advantages in practical applications. There is no need for post-processing when calculating the depth of field after the picture is taken, which can avoid delays and save the related costs of using a powerful post-processing system. The ToF camera ranging scale is flexible. In most cases, it can be completed only by changing the light source intensity, optical field of view, and transmitter pulse frequency. Due to its multiple advantages such as non-interference by external light, small size, fast response speed and high recognition accuracy, ToF camera has gradually become the preferred technical solution for 3D vision in multiple application fields such as mobile terminals, vehicles, and medical treatment.
